Prayer Needed

Kristen's mom was diagnosed with Renal Cancer on Sunday. We have set up a blog to share information with everyone quickly. For those of you who would be willing to pray, please go to: http://prayersforkaren.blogspot.com/

Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

Search with me.

Well its been quite a long while since our last post and our Mitchell-blog addicts are probably so far deep in withdrawal that giving a full Mitchell-update could have serious side effects.  Therefore, we are issuing the following warning as per the FDA:

Contents of the Mitchell blog if taken irregularly can cause nausea, bloating, incontinence, Tourettes Syndrome, pungent body odor, and Charlie Horses.  If symptoms last for longer than 4 hours please consult your physician.

There, you can't say we didn't warn you.  Now if you excuse me, I need to savor that wonderful safe feeling you get when you know your disclaimer frees you of any legal liability.  ... ... ... Ahhh ... .. ...  that's better ... .. .. ....

So.  You want to know what's been happening with us eh?  Let's see.  My car got hit by an orange Home Depot shopping cart, smashing my tail light into itsy bitsy pieces (what is it with me and car accidents?).  These car problems seem to be happening a lot recently as I found out that last week a tree fell on my parents' car in their driveway (Deja vu anyone?).

Beyond that, my lovely and beautiful wife and I have been walking around like a pair zombies without any brains to eat since Daylight savings was moved 3 weeks earlier.  I don't think I've ever been more impacted by Daylight savings before.  I seriously feel jet-lagged and its only an hour difference.  I'm still not too sure about the reasons for the switch, but if it was Congress' idea, I can guarantee that its a doozy.

Here's some real news.  I've got a new website!  You guys and girls (mostly girls, I'm not sure that outside of Nate, that any other guy reads this thing) have to go and check out my site.

www.searchwithtim.com

Its a small little business idea that has large impractical goals, but I'm curious to see if I can pull it off and it didn't cost much to build so....  Here's what it is:  It's a standard Google search engine.  Simply bookmark www.searchwithtim.com or set it as your homepage if your really like us, and then use it whenever you need to search Google.  It's as easy as that.  It uses Google's new AdSense applications and generates revenue from clicks made on sponsored links.  Give it a shot.  Tell you friends.  I want to see how much traffic I can whip up from just my friends and family.  Oh and by the way...  If you're still using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you really should switch to Firefox.  You can download that from my new website as well.

"Christmas" songs

I apologize for our long absence. Life at the Mitchells has been somewhat of a blur recently. In order to apologize, I wanted to share a few thoughts on songs I've heard on the radio that purport themselves to be "Christmas" songs. What ever happened to good old "Silent Night" or "Joy to the World"? What are your thoughts on these?
1. Last Christmas I gave you my heart (not sure of the actual title)
2. I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas
3. My Favorite Things (from Sound of Music)

My mind is drawing a blank on any more. If you can think of more, please add them on!

More on the reasons behind the hecticness later.

Putt Putt Putter Putt Putt

We're busy getting pictures of our new car ready for the blog.  While your eagerly awaiting these plus the results of last week' question...  why not enjoy a game of Mini-Golf?  See if you can best my score.  I got a 33

Mo Money, Less problems

Ye gods, what an overwhelming response we've had to that last blog! Apparently reviving our question of the week sparked interest and interactivity with our blog on a level never before witnessed.  By now, of course you're all waiting with baited breath for the correct answer and subsequent lavish praise publicly heaped upon the victor like so many servings of mashed potatoes on my plate during Thanksgiving...  So why wait any longer.  The answer was -- or was supposed to be -- "D", and despite the record number of people submitting answers, no one was able to guess the correct answer.  So in a surprise turn of events, No One gets praise heaped upon him/her.  So No One, here is your prize:

"While reading this blog, No One has the ability to pick out the best answer every time!  It is so nice to know that of all my friends, No One is smarter than the rest."

Well, I know that was a disappointment to the rest of you, but don't worry, here's another question with which you can win glory or, face certain ignominy

But first, our Mitchell-blog addicts wouldn't stand for us to straight to the question without giving them a little cyber peek into our zany life.  I can't blame you for your addiction, we are pretty cool people, and besides, peeks into our zany life are rarer than skorts at a nudist lumberjack convention.

Well, we finally got the first check of four to come.  It was actually nice to see some money at last.  So we'll be shopping for cars soon and it will be nice to see what kind of a deal we can finagle as Ford and GM skirt the shoals of bankruptcy.  Wish us luck.  And of course this segues very nicely into our question of the week:

As always, place your answers in the comments section, and the winner will get shameless and lavish praise heaped upon him/her in next week's episode.

Question of the Week:
What type of car should my lovely and beautiful wife and I buy to replace my hapless Ford Focus?
A.  Who needs a car, when you can have your husband pull you around in a Rickshaw!
B.  How about a nice family car for Tim, like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage
C.  Anyone remember BigFoot?
D.  Yo, get yo bling on wid a hippity hoppity Escalade

Good luck!
